Congress and Workshops

The European Society of Veterinary Dermatology (ESVD) is an association including more then 600 veterinary clinicians, academicians and research investigators from over 46 countries. ESVD was founded in 1984 in Hamburg, Germany. It is a non-profit making association. The income derived from sponsorships, fees, congress and meeting profits are devoted to current activities, research and travel awards, and initiatives of interest to members.

Annual Congress

The ESVD jointly organizes an Annual Congress in conjunction with the European College of Veterinary Dermatology (ECVD). The meeting is held in a different European city on each occasion. Every 3 to 4 years the ESVD Congress is merged with the World Congress of Veterinary Dermatology.

Workshops

In addition to the annual congress, the ESVD organizes courses aimed at providing a basis of advanced level dermatology focused around a core curriculum of essential medical science. Species orientated courses build on this knowledge in special areas of the discipline. The courses are generally run every 3 or 4 years. They are held at different sites all over Europe, selected for their facilities and convenient access and also because they provide a pleasant social environment. The duration of the courses varies from 2 to 5 days. The courses cover:

• Endocrinology
• Dermatopathology
• Dermatological therapy
• Oncology
• Equine dermatology
• Feline dermatology
• Otology
• Dermatological laser
• Comparative dermatology
