Langford Vets are looking for a dermatologist to join our close-knit team, with an intention of building towards a 2-3 diploma holding clinicians with support from service specific nurses.
The small animal hospital at Langford is one of the busiest in the UK, housing the largest team of European, American and RCVS specialists and specialists-in-training in the south west with all major specialties accounted for, as well as serving as the clinical teaching centre for the veterinary and veterinary nursing students of the University of Bristol.
The hospital is located at the rural Langford Campus, which is perched on the edge of the Mendip Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, but just 30 minutes from the innovative and colourful City of Bristol. It is also within easy travelling distance of the National Parks and beaches of Wales and the South West, and just 5 miles from Bristol International Airport.
You must hold a veterinary qualification recognised by the RCVS that allows you to practise veterinary medicine within the UK. Candidates must hold an ECVD or ACVD diploma, a Cert AVP (Derm), and/or have completed an ECVD or ACVD accredited residency. Beyond that the job can be tailored to the individual; full or part time would be considered with flexible working negotiable. There is wide scope to incorporate the interests of the individual, whether that be in clinical research, teaching, or anything in between.
You will participate in the delivery of a high-quality clinical service in veterinary dermatology and will also be expected to deliver clinical teaching and practical instruction for undergraduate veterinary students during their hospital rotations.

The Veterinary Clinical Sciences department in the College of Veterinary Medicine at Iowa State University, located in Ames, Iowa, invites applications for a full-time, clinical-track or tenure-track faculty position in dermatology. The primary responsibilities of this position will be to collaborate with the current accomplished team of veterinary dermatologists and allied specialists in the Lloyd Veterinary Medical Center. The primary responsibilities of this position will be divided between clinical duty, didactic and laboratory teaching, development of scholarly works, academic service and outreach activities. The percentage of effort dedicated towards these duties is dependent on the applicant, chosen track, department, and service’s needs.

The Department of Medical Sciences of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, School of Veterinary Medicine invites applications for a full-time, 12-month position as a Clinical Instructor within the Dermatology section.
Qualification: DVM or equivalent. Board certification or Board eligibility is required in the American College of Veterinary Dermatology or European College of Veterinary Dermatology. Aptitude and/or experience in clinical instruction of veterinary students, interns, and residents is also expected.
Applicant will commit time to the clinical activities of the hospital and school including the clinical and didactic teaching of veterinary students and residents, continuing education programs, and to basic science or clinical research that advances academic clinical practice. The successful candidate will participate in the clinical activities of the hospital including patient care, instruction and supervision of veterinary students, interns, and residents. Availability and willingness to consult and communicate with referring veterinarians and clients is vitally important. Approximately 750 dermatology patients are evaluated annually. The current caseload in the Small Animal Clinic is comprised of approximately 80% dogs and 20% cats. The Dermatology Service also provides services on a consultation basis for a small numbers of horses, farm animals, and exotic species. The distribution of time in clinical service is expected to be approximately 60-70%, implying approximately 36 weeks per year of clinical duty. The remaining balance of effort in the section and the Department will be determined in accordance with service needs, academic priorities and the successful candidate’s expertise and academic goals in veterinary dermatology. These activities could include didactic teaching, continuing education, and/or focused clinical research. The candidate should have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work cooperatively with all sections of the hospital and department.
Extensive opportunities for collaborative research and teaching exist within the School of Veterinary Medicine and the UW-Madison campus. The School of Medicine & Public Health, the College of Agriculture & Life Sciences, the School of Pharmacy, the Biotechnology Center, and the School of Education are located within a short distance of the School of Veterinary Medicine on the UW-Madison campus. A close relationship also exists with the Wisconsin State Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory, which is located within the same footprint on campus as the School of Veterinary Medicine.
