Travel Grant reports
Reports from grantees 2022
I am very grateful ESVD for this opportunity to attend the Dermatology Сongress in Porto. Without the travel grant, this wouldn’t have been possible, especially during the war in my country. I received a lot of useful information, which I use both in my practical work, and I will share it with my colleagues in Ukraine, using it in my lectures. Particularly useful for me were lecture D.Ferreira about possibilities of preventing atopic dermatitis, lecture M. Cadiergues about Photodermatoses and Solar dermatosis from C.Noli, Sterile neutrophilic dermatoses by C.Nelson. I was interested to learn about the use of laser, cryodestruction and the surgical approach in general for the treatment of dermatological diseases from lecturers D.Duclos, M.Mascarenhas, J.Kaczmarek. No less interesting were the presented clinical cases, the latest updates on commonly used drugs such as oclacitinib. And special thanks to the ESVD for the opportunity to speak publicly about the war in Ukraine.

Dear travel grant donors, sponsors and ESVD board members, First of all I want to thank to all of the people who have offered me the possibility to participate at the 33rd European Veterinary dermatology congress through the travel grant, and making possible to get me in touch with great lectures, listening to some of the best speakers in the field and also keeping me up to date with the latest news in the veterinary dermatology. For me personally this was my first participation in such a great event since I started practicing veterinary dermatology two years ago, and it meant a lot to me being at the beginning of the journey. Personally I was most pleased about the lectures in the practical programme which helped me to stabilise and carify some diagnostic and treatment protocols and I will apply all the information gained during the congress to all my dermatology patiens. I’m also very grateful that the organisers have also provided us short-comunications which were very helpful containing information I can apply in my current practice. In addition to the quality information, competence and exceptional experience of the speakers, I truly appreciated the organisation of the congress, the social events during the welcome reception, and the opportunity I had to socialize with veterinarians all over the world and gaining new insights of the veterinary profession. I also grateful that I meet some of the ESVD members, and in addition to their kindeness, provided us valuable information about new learning opportunities. Kind regards from Romania and I’m looking forward to meeting you again in Sweden!
Luminita Badea, Romania
I want to write my impressions from the congress. These were incredible three days of new knowledge, new interesting acquaintances.A separate gratitude for the city where the congress and the magnificent congress center took place. It was incredibly good.
The organization of a wonderful congress from beginning to end. A wonderful organization, thought out every stage of the European veterinary dermatology congress.European veterinary dermatology congress had three programs: practical, advanced and cutting edge. So, every veterinary dermatologist found a necessary topic for himself.
I spent more time on practical program. But I tried to find time for other programs.
Personally, I like best topics of Feline Atopic Syndrome A.Oliveira; To cut, suture and excise on your own J. Kaczmarek; Dermatologic conditions Where CO2 Laser is invaluables D. Duclos.I will look at the presentations of lecturers in the vFairs. It is very convenient for learning.Thank you dear colleagues for the incredible support of veterinarians of Ukraine. Thank you for sharing your experience and knowledge. I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the congress. Thank you very much for your support of Ukraine. Unfortunately, this is what Ukrainians need now. Thank you very much.
Kind regards, Kateryna Kuznetsova
It's been two weeks since the congress, and it feels like yesterday... It was unforgettable!
I would like to say thank you very much for the opportunity to attend the event and for the powerful support for Ukrainian doctors in these difficult times.
Everything was perfectly organized and thought out to the last detail, from the structuring of the information and schedule to the food and entertainment. The lecturers at whose presentations I attended were excellent, and the presentations were succinct and accessible.
Of course there was the joy of meeting colleagues, especially after COVID.
I hope that no external circumstances will interfere with ESVD 2023. And there will be such a wonderful celebration and meeting!
Anna Polumysnaya
Dear ESVD-ECVD board members, sponsors and colleagues, I want to thank everyone for a wonderful event, both practical, scientific and social. This 33rd European Congress of Veterinary Dermatology in Porto, Portugal will be memorable as the first of its kind and certainly, I hope, not the last.
After receiving travel grant, I was able to finally attend a dermatology congress, I finally met professionals whose work and articles I rely on in my dermatological journey. It is still hard to believe that it was real, after the Covid-19 and lockdown, after all the webinars, during this bloody war next to us, such a trip enriches not only in the sense of science, but also gives inspiration and refresh the minds. The atmosphere was utterly charming.
The most difficult part was choosing which lecture to go to, many times I wanted to be in two different auditoriums at the same time. In addition to all this, it was unreal to meet the greats of veterinary dermatology, to see those people whose names and surnames I know very well from their publications, seminars, who are the ones who lead veterinary dermatology into the future. A special moment was attending a lecture with Emeritus Richard E. W. Halliwell.
At the congress, I not only met familiar colleagues from different European countries, but also made new acquaintances. I sincerely thank everyone, and if someone is reading who has not yet participated in such an event, I recommend it, you will not regret it for a second. I hope that the next such experience will be at the next congress, which will take place in a peaceful Europe, without war or other crisis.
With best wishes from Lithuania,

Dear ESVD board members and grant donators
Receiving a travel fellowship grant for the 33rd ESVD - ECVD Congress in Porto, Portugal, in 2022 is a great honor and privilege for me. Attending the international conference in European nation is fulfilling my dream. That’s pretty incredible experience for me. The various topics, that lecture by famous speakers, were interesting and useful for practitioner in veterinary dermatology. I’ve met veterinarians and specialist who interested in dermatology and willing to share their experiences. Learning from their aspect and knowledges will improve my dermatology skills. I’ll share updating useful information to other veterinary students in Thailand. Many products were presented in the exhibition hall by the hospitality staffs. This congress not only helps vet dermatologists to connect with each other, but also an opportunity to travel in Porto, one of the most beautiful city in the world. Portuguese people are lovely, friendly and welcoming. I really appreciated for your support to organize this congress, and I look forward to participating once more in the next year.
Sincerely yours,

Dear ESVD Board members, dear Travel Grant donators and dear Colleagues,
it is with great honor and joy that I write you to express my gratitude for receiving the 2019 Travel Grant for attending the 31st European Veterinary Dermatology Congress in Liverpool, UK. Even before my graduation I dreamed of attending my first International Veterinary Dermatology Congress and your kind gesture of awarding me the Travel Grant was the reason I was able to fulfil this dream. I was, therefore, able to attend high level-advanced sessions presented by respected in the field of dermatology speakers, something that is of outmost importance for someone who wants to pursue a further specialization in this field. Meeting people who share my interest, collecting experiences and valuable knowledge for the future are some of the things that the Travel Grant award made possible as well. This Congress was a great motivation to set more goals in the field of dermatology and gave me one more “broad spectrum” picture, of how fascinating dermatology research is. Concluding, I would like to reach out to recent graduates and young colleges with interest in dermatology and advise them to also apply for a travel grant in the future. It is a great “boost” for everyone to start their career or to broaden their horizons.
Yours sincerely,
Doulidis Pavlos-Georgios, Greece
I appreciate ESVD for selecting me to offer a travel grant to attend 31st European Veterinary Dermatology congress 2019. Actually , this opportunity to attend a congress, totally based on veterinary dermatology was fruitful for me in different aspects as this was my first veterinary dermatology congress attended during my up to now professional practice.
Some topics I followed under the advance programmes were the most interesting part of this congress for me as it helped me to clarify some doubts in my mind regarding clinical cases related to dermatological issues came across in my practice. Cutting edge programmes improved my research interests in diverse aspects of animal dermatology.
Opportunity for networking with veterinarians who have come from different parts of the world during coffee and lunch break hours also appreciable event in this congress.
Commercial floor provided a chance to update vast range of pharmaceuticals, pet foods used for dermatological complications in animals and the machines made with latest advance technologies for the treatment of varies dermatological complications.
Finally, I thank to ESVD and ECVD board members, Scientific organizing committee, local organizing committee for organizing this event very successfully and also to ESVD for making arrangements to offer travel grants to veterinarians who have less financial facilities to attend this congresses.
Dr. Viranga Jayasundara, Institution: Municipal Council, Dehiwala, Sri Lanka.
First, let me introduce myself. My name is Vera, and I am a veterinarian from Belarus. and in our country we are taught how to treat and scrutinize education is limited only with farm animals only. We do not have any opportunities also have nowhere to get specialization, deeper expertise and to take further training.
I chose dermatology as my specialization for a long time, about 7 years ago. And then I began to attend training courses events in Russia in Ukraine. Also, and the conferences and master classes were held there while, in Belarus there this was nothing about it.
I am very happy that I was able to win the grant and continue my studies.
I really appreciate I`m really liked the division of lectures into various levels of difficulty difficulty levels, into the a practical and theoretical courses. ESVD congress s is a great opportunity to attend lectures of famous veterinarians from whose books I have learned a lot, from whose books I studied.
The congress venue was excellent. Everything was perfect. This congress caused me a lot of emotions and has opened up new possibilities to develop veterinary dermatology in my country.
Many thanks to the board members of ESVD - Luc Beco, Katarina Varjonen, Evgenija Kondrateva for helping me attend this congress.

Dear Travel Grant Sponsors and ESVD Board Members,
Thanks to the travel grant, I have been able to visit the 31st European Veterinary Dermatology Congress in Liverpool. All the lectures were very interesting and I really enjoyed listening to the best veterinary dermatologists in the world. The knowledge will help me in my daily work in the clinic. I was particularly impressed by the lectures on the various possibilities of immunotherapy and its effectiveness. I will introduce such solutions for my patients. I have also learned about the existence of many new skincare products.
The Congress was not only an event that broadened my knowledge but was also a great social event. I met many people associated with dermatology, such acquaintances will be helpful in developing my skills and exchange of views. The Meet & Greet at the Liverpool Catherdral took my breath away. I have never participated in such a wonderfully organized meeting in such a beautiful place.
I look forward to the next congresses!

The time I spent in Liverpool was exceptional. It is a great honor to be one of the Travel Fellowship Grantee. It gave me the opportunity to visit Liverpool and to attend many interesting lectures and also to meet many new people. The newest information is in my opinion very important in any medicine and this congress gave me much more. I have a new energy to work, I also have a new inspiration but most importantly-new friends. The lectures were very interesting, the speakers were excellent and the conference was great. I would like to mention one person, who is not dermatologist but who has inspired and surprised me a lot. Nick Bacon was the greatest inspiration bringing very clear and important inspiration and also important tips from the surgical point of view.
Thank you ESVD for giving me the chance to be part from 30th annual congress!

Dear ESVD Board Members and Grand Donators! Thank You very much for this great opportunity, that I could have been a participant of the 31th ESVD–ECVD Congress 2019 in Liverpool. I learned a lot from all the lecturers I was able to listen to. I enjoyed the most Dr. Karen Moriello’s Dermatophytosis lectures, and Dr. Vanessa Schmidt’s lecture about skin emergencies. I had the opportunity to talk to other dermatologists from all over the world, and find out that it is a really friendly and helpful community. I’m already using my new knowledge I gained from this conference in my everyday work. I hope I will able to visit the following congresses as well, because it was a very useful three days for me in Liverpool. Also the location was excellent, I enjoyed this beautiful city with it’s spectacular city centre and waterfront. Once again, thank you for this great experience.

Dear colleagues, ESVD-ECVD Board members and Grant donators,
It was such a great honor and pleasure to be a 2019 Travel Fellowship Grantee! It really gave me an opportunity to visit 31th European Veterinary Dermatology Congress in Liverpool. It was amazing for me to attend lectures of the best veterinary dermatologist and also human dermatologist from all over the world. There were so many interesting topics leading me so hard decision which topics should I attend. I learned a lot from ‘stream of Mast cell’ by Dr.Marcus Mueller. I’m impressed by lecture from Dr.Karen Moriello and Dr.Mark Papich also. Furthermore, I had shared experiences to foreign colleagues from different countries. I would like to share new information received at the congress with colleagues in Thailand. Overall, this congress was amazing with very warm hospitality. The congress was every well-organized including lunches / breaks and exhibition. This is a fantastic experience for me that I hope I can share to dermatologists in Thailand.
Thank you so much once again for my wonderful experience and knowledge gain from ESVD-ECVD congress.

I would like to thank you all for this huge opportunity. The variety of topic were really great...The
only problem I had was choosing wich lecture I would attend...Thanks god there is a complete proceedings book!!
I could be aware of the new protocols of treatment like the use of higher doses of oclacitinib in cats...
The lectures I appreciate the most were " Sterile pyogranulomatous dermatites ", "40 minutes essencial guide to hormonal hair loss and " interpretation of culture and susceptibility testing".
The short communications were really helpfull and dinamic.
Now I can prepare a lecture to brazilians vets with the knowledge I have acquired in Liverpool.

These days in Dubrovnik were unforgettable. I have learned from the best. It is impossible to write about every great lecturer (Sonya Bettenay, Ralf Muller, Thierry Olivry and many more) but I have to mention Danny Scott. These lectures were full of energy and inspiration. I will always remember standing ovations and emotions after "My viewpoint on 45 years of evolution in veterinary dermatology". Furthermore my patients are already using my new knowledge. But this congress was not just science. It was a unique atmosphere, new acquaintances and strengthening of earlier dermatological friendships. Thank you for helping me realize my dreams and for being part of the ESVD family. 30th European Veterinary Dermatology Congress did not live up to my expectations - it went far beyond them!

Dear ESVD Board members and Grant donators! It is a great honor and pleasure to be a 2018 Travel Fellowship Grantee! It gave me opportunity to visit 30th European Veterinary Dermatology Congress in Dubrovnik, what means: I learned a new things, I repeated things that were forgotten and of course, I met old and new friends. Cutaneous oncology, equine and exotic animal dermatology, atopic dermatitis, allergies – so many topics, that sometimes you want to divide in two part to be able to visit them all. Great lecturers present even complicated topics in very easy and understandable way, so afterwards everyone can apply new knowledges in general practice. Perfect- organized social program provide a favorable atmosphere for communication – where else you can come and talk with world famous researches and professors!? So, I would like to advise to all people, who doubt and/ or feel shy: do not wait for better chance! Apply to Travel Grant and make a first step (or continue going deeper) in amazing world of Veterinary Dermatology!

Great opportunity to meet legends of veterinary dermatology! And organization was also perfect! Warm regards from Russia and thank you again! I hope to meet you again next year!

Dear colleagues from the ESVD, It was an honor for me to be chosen as a Scholarship Granted in the 30th ESVD / ECVD Congress in Dubrovnik so I was able to attend this Congress for the first time from a country so far away as Peru. I also hope there will be many more times for me to attend this amazing Congress. Dubrovnik is a wonderful city and an excellent choice for a great Congress to be done. I´ve learned to much in those three days from the best veterinary dermatologist and also human dermatologist from all over the world and got to much information to come home to Peru to teach to my colleagues and still be able to learn much more from the abstracts of all the presentations, the posters, and also from the exhibitors. The Poken experience was also very interesting, to stay in contact in an easy way with colleagues and exhibitors of all over the world and to keep our info safe and available. All the social events were amazing and also the gastronomy was a pleasure to enjoy. So what I can only say to you dear colleagues from the ESVD is THANK YOU SO MUCH for the opportunity and hope to see you soon, even in Peru where you all got a new friend, if you want to visit anytime to share your knowledge you will always be welcome, or maybe in other places of the world were veterinary dermatology is growing in knowledge and importance, hope to be there with you too.

What a great experience was for me the 30th annual congress of ESVD-ECVD! Dubrovnik is not just one of the most popular touristic destination but also the city with one of the oldest still operating pharmacies in the world and the place where the quarantine was first practiced! To make a parallel with the pharmacies – how the dermatologic services would survive without drugs?! Especially prednisolone?! ☺ And even more important point how organizations like ESVD could make such nice event without the pharmaceutical industries?! It`s a good place to thank all companies and ESVD for your great work and efforts to make us feel and transmit the spirit of this congress. Staying in the drug context I would like to mention one of the Veterinary Dermatology fathers and one of his lectures this year in Dubrovnik namely Danny Scott and Feline Dermatology. The most important sentence when we speak about cutaneous adverse drug reactions is Danny Scott`s maxim: All drugs are guilty until proven innocent! To make a parallel with the new ideas and development – ESVD-ECDV congresses are always the exact place to share all that is coming. Thierry Olivry spoke about anti IgE – chimera. Something promising, another future weapon in the war CAD – veterinary dermatologists. Thank you ESVD for giving me the chance to be part from 30th annual congress!

Dear ESVD Board members and Grant donators! My sincere thanks for the travel grant, as it gave me this wonderful opportunity to visit the 29th ESVD–ECVD Congress 2017 in Lausanne. All lectures were perfect, some topics were especially new to me, such as Erythema multiforme, Stevens-Johnson syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis, and Epidermal drug reactions (K. Linder), and Cutaneous adverse events in oncologic patients (L. Ferrer). Thanks to the excellent organization, there was time to communicate with colleagues. It was a great opportunity to get answers to my questions from the best dermatologists in the world, and also Congress gave me an opportunity to find a speakers for the Symposium in Russia.
Anna Gerke
I would like to say thank you for giving me this wonderful opportunity and experience. In ESVD conference, I met many veterinarians, specialists and professors from around the world. It was nice to meet them and have a chance to share some stories about case study. Many speakers talked in various topics and aspects of veterinary dermatology. Most topics in conference pointed in canine atopic dermatitis but atopic eczema in human was included too. It was precious lectures that open new viewpoints of diagnosis and treatments. In particular cutting edge programme, the contents of these lectures were so attractive and interesting. It is incredible to know that some human studies could apply in veterinary fields. Moreover, in oral poster presentations, many young veterinarians and famous professors shared about their research with passion, it’s so impressive to be a participant in that room! Furthermore, I also enjoy commercial exhibition. I got new information about anti-pruritic drugs, commercial testing, diet and various products for atopy. In exhibition booths, all staffs were polite, calm, friendly and willing to provide a lot of information. In addition, they offered a lot of valuable products for testing in pet. In overview, I really love and enjoy this conference. If there is a chance, I would like to participate again. I really recommend ESVD conference, so don’t hesitate to register and join in the next year!!!

Many thanks to the sponsors and ESVD for the opportunity to visit the ESVD-ECVD Annual Congress, 7-9 September 2017 in Lausanne Switzerland. There were a lot of lectures useful for practicing dermatologists, the information of which will help me in my daily work in the clinic. I would especially like to mention lectures of S.White,C.Favrot,E. Mendoza- Kuznetsova and interesting clinical cases from L. Ferrer. I will try to share new information received at the congress with colleagues in Ukraine. Also, I had a wonderful opportunity to talk with foreign colleagues and discuss the organization of clinics, dermatologist's work, methods of treatment and medications used in different countries.

Dear ESVD,I must confess that every newsletter I receive on my email signed by ESVD is a small reason of joy for a beginner dermatogist as I am, as it reminds me that I am part of a group of such incredible minds that share the same interest. Needless I say how grateful I was when I received the email confirming that I was one of the grantees, a feeling that lasted until the last day of congress and afterwards. The quality of the lectures and the choice of location for all scientific and social events made this exerience even more pleasing.I already made use of a few things I learned this congress and I became more confident about the things I already knew. So thank you again for this opportunity and I am looking forward to meeting you on next ESVD event.

Hello again. It is time for feedback. I wanna say big "Thank you" to give me an oportunity to join the world vetderm T-Rexes in DermCongress in Lauzanne this year. That was my the first real international veterinary conference and it was great to be there. I absorbed the new and really needful practice and theoretical info. I hope it would be my good tradition to visit the same congresses every years, cause now I know how wonderful they will be!
Mariya Bondareva, Russia
Dear all. I would like, once again, to thank the ESVD board for a travel grant. I appreciate this support very much, since without it, my participation on Annual ESVD congress, regarding on economical situation in Slovakia, would difficult be possible. To attend congresses is ,for me, an unique possibility to learn the newest infos about "old" problems, to go to "a depth" of causes, pathomechanisms and clinical signs of derm diseases, as well as to be informed about coming therapeuticals for diseases, frustrating owners and veterinarians as well. Always great organization, community spirit, heplful and friendly atmosphere in this congresses, are the best medium connecting people with the same liking - veterinary dermatology - who wants to rise and improving theyselves in this field. With best regards.

I'm really happy, that thanks to travel grant ESVD I had an opportunity to be on the World Congress of Veterinary Dermatology in Bordeaux. The programme of congress was outstanding! Such a pity, that visiting all the lectures was impossible, that's why printed and electronic materials of the participants deserve special thanks to organizers. Up-to date knowledge which I received will allow to treat my patients more successfully. Meetings with the collegues who are as in love in veterinary dermatology as I, and with the best famous dermatologists the world inspired me to go forward in my studying this subject. Bordo enchanted me by its beauty and hospitality, conquered French cuisine and became a zesty of the Congress. WSVD-8 was a grand event , which will remain forever a bright page of my life. A lot of thanks again to ESVD.
Klavdiia Kharitonova
I would like to thank very much ESVD for providing me with the grant, i would never be able to attend without that! I had really great time in Brodeaux, despite bad weather. Congress was great, I got many new informations about my beloved cat patients. I liked the new info about resistency of microorganisms, that MIC is not enought and microbiology labs can do better work for practitioners. I liked the lectures about nutrition and probiotics, it is good to know that there is science behing the informations I am telling my clients. One of the most important part of congress is networking, getting new friends and I got few really nice friends. That all would not be possible without ESVD support.

First of all I wanted to thank you for the opportunity you gave me. Bordeaux is a beautiful city well connectd with very good transport giving me the chance to get to the congress centre easily. For me it was the first world congress, and it was a wonderful experience.Very interesting topics were treated to the point that It was very difficult to decide what topic to follow. I decided to follow the topic that best reflected in daily practice and have been very satisfied with the reports of the speakers who expressed themselves clearly and were ready to answer all our questions. Also, meet colleagues from all over the world has given me the opportunity to confront myself on a professional level with different cultures. I'm very satisfied of the organizatin of the congress, the social programm "meet and greet" in the amazing Bordeaux Opera, the evening dinner in" Château . Giscours" and the most exiciting time was the Dr. Carlotti memories and when they presented the awards.Overall very impressed. Thank you,

Following your polite request for a brief summary on our recollections from the WCVD, please allow me to start with the expression of my gratitude for the amazing opportunity you gave me.I honestly had the time of my life at the Congress, but the most important of all is the impact this opportunity seems to already have on my life. Living in a rural area in Greece, in a small provincial town of approximately 40.000 people, where women are still underappreciated as equal to men,in science and business, where dewormers, inj. steroids and antibiotics - even 3rd class cephalosporins- have been and still remain the vast clinical approach, receiving this grant from the ESVD was a wave of fresh air,of this amazing feeling that a scientific community needs your passion for excellency, needs your ideas, your possible contribution to science, if given the opportunities.Thank you for giving my life a different path to follow.Every lecture was amazing, but the workshops would just rock!! And all that for free for the Travel Grant vets. I am so looking forward to seeing you next year in Switzerland. In the meanwhile, I am doing my very best to participate in your continuing education sessions. Always and forever grateful Yours faithfully

I am extremely delighted to have been chosen to receive this travel grant. Thank you so much again for this great honor. This was my first time attending a conference in aboard. The conference was great, excellent speakers, many interesting topics, new medicines/products from companies and I am really happy to meet a participants from many countries. I was so blown away not only by the insightful topics and beautiful venue but also by the warmth of European friends who have the same passion in dermatology. I realize that the more I learn about dermatology the more I love everything about dermatology and the more I love dermatology the more I can help animals in my country :)

Dear Board of ESVD, my colleagues and friends, as a recipient of this year's Travel grant I am happy that I have the opportunity to gratefully thank for the support. I am working at Veterinary faculty of Ljubljana and have been a member of ESVD for years. Since economy depression in my state is still not over and consequently my faculty couldn't cover the complete costs of attending the Congress it was of a big help that I've been granted. Helped by the grant I've been able to cover not only the travel costs but partly also the costs of the hotel. Attending the Annual ESVD / ECVD congress is not only obligatory for everyone that wants to run a quality clinical dermatology practice, but also a great pleasure. Attending the highest quality lectures, meeting colleagues from all over the world and socialize at professionally prepared events has been a tradition of Annual meetings already for a long time. The congress in Salzburg was no exception. By deciding to be a part of it you cannot miss and cannot be missed! To everyone that didn't decide yet, and amongst them there are our students, I shall strongly recommend to become a part of this great and friendly Dermatology family. Thank you once again

Dear all, I would like to say thank you for the provided ESVD travel Grant and for the opportunity to participate in the 27th annual congress of the ESVD-ECVD. It was my first congress and I am really impressed by the amount and the quality of the information I have got there. The topics of the lectures were needful and interesting, the lecturers were awesome. Besides that, I had the opportunity to meet a lot of new interesting people, colleagues from different countries, making new friends and share experiences. The social events were great! The perfect way to relax after the lectures and to communicate with the dermatology people in a even more relaxed environment. Salzburg is a cozy and beautiful city and I was more than happy to be there.Thank you for unforgettable atmosphere of the congress and I am looking forward for the next meeting in Krakow!

Dear ESVD Board members and Grant donators! My sincere thanks for the travel grant, as it gave me this wonderful opportunity to visit the 27th ESVD–ECVD Congress 2014 in Salzburg. It was a good chance for me to listen excellent speakers to learn something new. All new information that I got out here I will use in my practice and will introduce to colleagues in my country. I also met new colleagues and speakers, who had willing to share their experiences. I’m very glad that the Proceedings Book contains abstracts of all reports, because I couldn’t be in several auditoriums, at the same time. I saw the excellent organization of the Congress, and I would like to use my experience in the organization of the Annual dermatological symposiums in my country. All lectures were perfect; the most useful for my practice have been reports of Elizabeth Mauldin about scaling disorders and about the basics of skin biopsy, and also report of Monika Welle about Hair cycle disorders. I real enjoyed from “Case presentations of weird alopecias” - joint report of Elizabeth Mauldin / Hilary Jackson / Craig Griffin and “Clinicopathologic Correlations”- joint report of Hilary Jackson / Monika Linek. Special thanks to Ana Rostaher for her attention and warm emails. I hope to meet you all in Krakow next year.

Dear ESVD Board members and the travel grant donors, my sincere thanks to ESVD board and Grant donors for supporting me with the travel grant to attend the fantastic 2013 ESVD meeting. Spectacular venue, intresting topics and absolutly great speakres made this cogress one of the best that I ever attend. It was great honor to learn from and talk with leaders in veterinary dermatology like prof. Olivry, prof. Muller and others. I came home with many ideas how to improve my my daily practice and how much about dermatology I still have to learn. Besides learning from the fantastic speakers, it was great feeling to meet so many people that are "in love" with veterinary dermatology. Looking foward to see you all in Salzburg next year.

Dear ESVD board members and grant donors, Thank you so much for the travel grant. To participate at this congress is a great honor for me. I had a chance to learn more and broaden my knowledge about how to make a step by step dermatological approach, to make a better diagnosis with a lots of cases samples. I have met lots of veterinarians from all around the world with the same passion and interest and was able to broaden my personal and professional network. I really enjoyed this congress. In addition, I also learned more about many dermatological products which we can use in dermatology, although unfortunately we still don't have many in Indonesia. I hope I can bring this basic knowledge to Indonesia and share it with all my colleagues, so we can provide a better service for the animals and owners. My wish is that Indonesian veterinarians also will improve their dermatological knowledge and with time we can go for the advanced level. Once again, thank you so much for this opportunity, hopefully I can go to next ESVD annual congress 2014 in Austria.

Dear colleagues, I feel honored and grateful for having been granted to attend such an event! The academic quality and detail-oriented organization of the venue demonstrate there is a world-class team behind this. I would like to give special thanks to Luc Beco, Thierry and Steve for making this possible. And to Ana for having kept every detail in order and making it easy for us participants. Be sure that all the knowledge and lessons learned will be spread in Colombia throughout my daily professional practice and in the academic field.

I would like to thank all the organizing committee for this extraordinary Congress and also I would extend my gratefulness to all those involved in choosing us to become the grant recipients and lastly but just because is a matter of writing order... the donors. It has been a great opportunity to attend a meeting of this level and excellent location too. It was so international that I forgot that I was in España (even that I speak Spanish, I am from Peru). I will spread what I have learned here to the my fellow colleagues and students. It has been an opportunity to meet new "dermoids" and of course a great way to meet old friends again.

Dear grant donors, organizers and ESVD board Thank you so much for taking care of the scholarship program, and thanks to all sponsors who helped us reach this goal. It has been an amazing experience for me, and I am taking back home a lot of quality education that will help me improve my daily practice, and will certainly expand to my colleagues too. It is always enriching for me, to talk to colleagues from different countries, and exchange experiences and ideas. Something good always comes up atfer such things. It is, - at least to me, a brainstorming experience. The exhibition was fantastic and I had the opportunity to see what s going on in veterinary dermatology products worldwide, even though those products are not available to me. The venue was an excellent choice, so were all events that were organized. The local team also needs to be aknowledged for finding such good places for the evenings and all the support and organization. Warm regards and thanks,
Guille Manigot
Dear ESVD Board members and travel grant donors, Firstly, my sincere thanks to ESVD board and Grant donors for supporting me with the travel grant to attend this fantastic 2013 ESVD meeting. Kudos to the organizing committee for executing this event so perfectly in the spectacular venue, which was very spacious and relaxing. The topics were aptly selected with right speakers on all the days considering interest of fresh graduates, general practice and board certified specialists. The interactive sessions and controversies in dermatology were equally engaging and interesting. Besides learning from the fantastic speakers, it was great feeling to meet some of my old friends, colleagues and “Gurus”. As usual, Dr Olivry’s evidence based derm lectures were superb with “punching” take home messages. I also enjoyed laser therapy, although it is out of our reach at present in my country. I was able to meet and make network of leading derms, whom I would like to invite to support our regular CE and workshops for south asian vets. This meeting has strengthened my current role to enhance quality of derm practice and pet care in south asian countries. Thanks again to all of you (Perfectionist Dr Beco and bubbly Dr Rostaher) for making us so special and helping to spread derm knowledge and “best practice” globally. Hoping to attend the meeting next year too

Dear Sponsors, Thank you very much for the travel grant that allowed me to be a part of the Seventh World Congress of Veterinary Dermatology in Vancouver. The organization of the Congress was excellent, lecture room spacious, well ventilated, with good sound and visibility from every spot. Most of the presentations were excellent, I learned a lot, especially some new diagnostic and treatment procedures. Main problem was that I couldn’t be in 3 different places, at the same time. I really enjoyed Otitis session, where I gathered many practical information. All lecturers very patiently answered our questions after the lecture or during the break. Also, I had opportunity to talk to my colleagues from other East European countries, and to find out that we share same problems considering additional education, working conditions, owner compliance and adequate compensation for our examination. It was a great opportunity for me not just to acquire additional knowledge, but also to see how good presentation should look like and the way to be presented. This will help me in my future work at the University with the students and in the clinic. Once again, thank you for this great experience.

Thanks to the travel grant, I have been able to visit the Seventh World Congress of Veterinary Dermatology in Vancouver. In the welcoming atmosphere of the Convention Centre in Coal Harbour, a great deal of priceless presentations took place. I have participated in many presentations of CE comprehensive and CE advanced. With great interest have I visited the feline program and I found the SOA presentation most engaging. I have also given a short visit to the equine programe and the CPC. It is a great pity I was not able to participate in many other presentations. Since this was my first time visiting Canada, I very much enjoyed the social program-From Sea to Sea:A Canada Evening, and my stay in Vancouver in general with its friendly and international atmosphere. The congress enabled me to enhance my knowledge in the field of veterinary dermatology and has opened new horizons, which I can use in the future and pass on to my collegues in the Czech Republic. Once again I ´d like to thank all the wonderful sponsors who have given me this thrilling opportunity, which has enabled me to attend this invaluable congress.

A week in Vancouver I express my thanks to ESVD for the travel grant enabling me to take part at the 7WCVD in Vancouver from 24 to 28 July 2012. The first occasion to meet my “dermoid” friends was on the “Arrival Meet and Great”. It was a great pleasure to meet my “old” friends 10 months after meeting in Brussels. On the congress it was really difficult to choose the lectures to be attended, because there were parallel lectures and/or lecturers I wanted to listen to. Personally, I am really interested in immunology and in atopic dermatitis, so I was pleased to hear the excellent lectures of those topics. It is a wonderful experience to hear living lectures, the words, the half sentences, remarks and comments of the most famous dermatologists from all over the world who usually present evidence-based medicine at a very high level of recommendation (evidence from meta-analysis or systematic reviews). Still they add their own experiences which sometimes are the most important and interesting information for me. At the final social occasions: “From Sea to Sea – A Canada Evening” and the “Gala Dinner” I always feel that we are a big family in which I can be one of the members from the small Hungary. Great thanks to all the organizers, lecturers, sponsors, for the travel grant for this magnificent experience and thanks to my family that I could enjoy and learn a lot on the 7WCVD!
